Please join us for a special opportunity to worship with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ here in the Twin Cities! This will be a combined Advent worship service with the MSP churches participating in the WELS Merge for Mission program. The service will be an acoustically and visually immersive song service, filled with projections in the sanctuary, and traditional and modern Advent and Christmas songs for contemplative reflection and joyful expectation of our Savior King. All are welcome! Free event, refreshments following.

Join us for a combined MSP congregation effort to pack individual resource kits for Simpson Housing Services. These kits will contain items that provide comfort and essentials to individuals in our community experiencing and transitioning out of homelessness. To help purchase urgently needed supplies for these kits, CONTRIBUTE HERE*.

*All items will be picked up prior to the event, then packed by those attending, so there is no need to bring anything along with you. Let us know you'll be able to make it: RSVP HERE.

Join us for a bonfire with s’mores and lawn games at the Como Park fire pits. Bring your own lawn chair, roasting tools, and drinks. Gather will provide s’more supplies, wood, and lawn games. Park along Como Ave and look for signage.

This event will follow the previous weekend's joint outdoor worship opportunity and picnic at St. John’s, Mpls on Sunday, September 22 at 10:30 a.m.

Join us at Wabun Park in Minneapolis (Shelter G, separate from but near Minnehaha Falls) for an outdoor worship service on Sunday, June 2, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a picnic about 12:30 p.m. Bring a side dish and the kids! GATHER will provide the main dish of pulled pork bbq sandwiches and hotdogs for the kids (or anyone who loves hotdogs). Lemonade and water will also be provided. 

We’ll meet at Wabun rain or shine, unless there’s severe weather in the forecast, then we’ll worship and enjoy pulled pork and fellowship at Mount Olive St. Paul. We’ll post here and email the mailing list if that is the case.

There is free parking at Wabun. Shelter G is located a little ways from the main parking lot, playground, wading pool, and frisbee golf field. See below for additional parking information.

Parking Information

There’s lots of free parking at Wabun. Shelter “G” is a short distance away from the main, upper lot and playground, slightly downhill. The easiest way to get there is to NOT take the road leading to the main lot and instead follow 46th Ave S. down and around to a lower lot that is very close to Shelter G. You can also easily walk from the main lot, so either way, you’ll be fine.

Meeting #2 Recap: Merge 4 Mission Presentation with Pastor Jon Hein

We had a great meeting April 21 at Mount Olive, St. Paul. About 60 people attended, including kids. The five urban-center churches were all represented, plus a handful of folks between church homes.

Jacob Swogger gave a recap of what's been done with Gather WELS TC so far and a preview of where this effort is heading: about one event per month aimed at a mix of socializing, planning, and worshiping together. Jon Hein of WELS Congregational Services gave a robust presentation, and there was a lot of good discussion about the important topics around Merge for Mission (M4M).

Meeting #1 Recap: Meet & Greet Gathering

At our first event, we welcomed at least four churches at an art studio in NE Minneapolis. We shared some pizza and a few drinks and got to know each other a little bit. The kids played legos as Jacob Swogger gave a presentation about the Gather WELS TC effort.
